What Pearl Wore 2010

Last year I did a looking back post over what I had worn that year – What Pearl Wore 2009, so here are some of my favourite outfits from this year. One thing that certainly stands out are the lack of summery outfits this year compared to last, so here is hoping for a sunnier 2011 for a start!
I have been reading many bloggers posts recapping their highs and lows of 2010. For most, me included, this has been an awful year overshadowed with ill health and lack of emplyment. However there was of course one major celebration – graduating from my PhD in Biochemistry.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!
Dr Pearl

  1. I had never realised how wonderful and fashionable the colours of your PhD Outfit (sorry I do not know the name in English. People do not wear it in Spain)
You look fantastic in all your outfits.
    A fist full of besos.

  2. Dr Pearl, how utterly fabulous! I adore each and every look, but I think the two-tone tights outfit is my favourite.

Happy New Year to you! xx

  3. You have had a good year for vintage dresses though, and that's got to count for something. I also suspect you single-handedly planted the seed for my obsession with peg trousers!

Hope you have a much luckier year, Dr Pearl. x

  4. @Sacramento – I think they just call it a 'gown' or 'robes', it is lovely isn't it!

@Doria Grey – I was thinking that, some of these photos are very good hair ones- shame I cut it all off, but it was getting in my way all the time!

  5. Some fabulous outfits! And congrats Dr Pearl! Glad to see the back of 2010 too – very mixed year for me and like you was also low in employment – very frustrating if you want to shop!

  6. Happy new year, Dr Pearl! Some great looks for 2010. I hope you have a more fulfilling 2011, and I'm also keeping my fingers crossed for a sunnier summer in Manchester!

  7. Pearl, congrats on your PhD! I am currently completing mine (French lit), it has taken forever. I love your top looks of 2010, but my favourite has to been that beautiful eau-de-nil dress and raspberry clutch. Wishing you a very Happy New Year! xx Comtesse xx

  8. Dearl Pearl, You look totally fabulous in everything you wear. I'm honoured that someone as gorgeous as you is remotely interested in my humble blog. Funny how Jon always appears behind me whenever I read your blog. Keep up the good work, Dr Pearl. xxx

  9. Congratulations on completing your PhD! That's my goal for this year, fingers crossed. It's great to know that there are other people out there doing their PhDs in style, flaunting the expectations that people often have about scientists and their fashion choices!

  10. Oh, I love your style Pearl. You are so inspiring and I learn a lot from your blog. Where did you get the top in the third picture (where you're wearing biker jacket, Fab red belt, black pants)?? I have a top that looks like that: mine is Vivian Tam from local SteinMart. Mine has dark blue, purple and gray "stains" as if painted with watercolor…
thanks for this post. My 2010 was awful too. But it's in the past and let's hope that the bunny year brings us all joy, happiness and prosperity. Congratulations again on your PhD. You should be very proud of yourself. I'm sure you'll find something soon that pays well and you enjoy doing too.
    xx

……. although plain black skinny jeans, tweed jacket and chanel bag is my fave
    Rianna xxxx

  13. @maya – it is Christopher Kane 'atomic' print, its kind of wasted in that outfit as the main print is on the lower half!
