Since starting this blog I have started off each new year with a round up of my favourite outfits. I wasn’t sure if to do so this year due to the evolution of the blog, but then again I think its interesting to be able to look back over my fashion journey. Sadly the blog is still suffering from the recent hacker incident and some of the images aren’t showing, it is disheartening to say the least. It will take time to rebuild so please bear with me. Here are the links to my previous 5 years in fashion and a rather sparse year 6:
What Pearl Wore 2009, 2010, 2011,
(sorry but posts for these years aren’t back up yet from the hacking, its taking a long, long time to restore 2012, 2013)
What Pearl Wore 2014
Full on Westwood
My Carrie Bradshaw moment – the skirt is a version of her wedding dress in the Sex and The City movie! All Vivienne Westwood couture
Squiggle, squiggle, squiggle!
One of my favourite Gold Label gowns, its got a train what more can I say.
My favourite Worlds End piece and favourite dress in the world, the Shirtwaister.
Evening wear
Once upon a time I would have said there was no distinction between by day to night wear, these days my workwear has to be really toned down which has influenced by style all round. These are two cheap High St outfits the black is River Island and Zara, the floral is Select but I really like the cuts on them both – with crazy shoes by Chanel and Agent Provocatuer though, you can’t take the girl that far out of the city!
Winter
Best thing about winter? Its the coats and this is my favourite coat by a mile, 90’s Westwood at its finest. You can’t keep a coat like this locked away for best, worn here with River Island jumper, M&S jeans, ASH boots.
Can’t beat a vintage aran knit and a VW kilt with some killer boots.
Summer
As much as I like coats and boots I am much more of a summer girl, if only for the easy of getting ready in the morning. Dress + shoes = done!
60’s influence in a dress from my beloved Mooch vintage in Sheffield, Fendi B belt, VW shoes
If you aren’t sick of seeing this dress on the blog by now then you are doing well!
Little pin-up/sailor inspired outfit. top River Island everything else VW
Cute little Topshop find with staple Converse, wish we had more days hot enough for this!
That first dress….
So glad you did this; I seem to have missed some of these outfits, including the top one. Beautiful!
Love the High Street pieces too. And that’s the thing with ‘fashion’…a great big blooming mix.
MY new necklace? The first thing I thought was that it will be perfect with some pearl & coral earrings Arthur brought back from Tokyo. The coral is carved just like the little flower on the necklace. Made for each other and you’ve probably not even seen my earrings.
Kismet.
Zxx
I love the bright colours in summer.
Lizzie Dripping
Absolutely LOVE them all. Favourites are too hard to pick…though if I was pushed, maybe the squiggle, shirtwaister, black RI/Zara and the one with the train is stunning.
You have the most amazing wardrobe! Love the sailor outfit! I hope everything is back to normal for you asap! Happy New Year! x
