Wearing: Tara Starlet dress, Prada shoes, Nicole Farhi sunglasses
I’m probably a little late to the game but I’ve recently discovered designer Tara Starlet, maker of the most fabulous vintage inspired clothes – vintage inspired but not replicas so they are modern but with those gorgeous ’50s shapes such as nipped in waists and huge skirts. This is the ‘Marina’ dress and it is pretty much everything I ask for in a dress, including pockets. They had a great sale over the summer so I had a bit of a binge, other than a few vintage finds this is the first shopping purchase I’ve made in a long time so expect much more Tara Starlet on the blog soon.
James is wearing: shirt Topman, jeans vintage Levis from Mooch Vintage Sheffield, watch Jord Wooden Watches*
As you know product features aren’t something we do often on this blog, however there are sometimes those occasions which we simply cannot refuse, this was one of them.
We were invited to introduce Jord wooden watches and were blown away not just by the style and quality of these timepieces, but the ethos of such a lovely family run company. Locally owned and based in St Louis, Missouri Jord design and manufacture watches from real wood. All the wood used is sustainably sourced from around the world, allowing Jord to create some truly beautifully crafted pieces. We were intrigued as to how a wooden watch would feel to wear and delighted to discover it was light weight, smooth finished and so easy to wear. The wood also gives a lovely warmth in contrast to the usual metal watches, nor does it pinch like some metal straps can. In addition it is a great option for vegans who are looking for an alternative to leather straps. It also carried that lovely fresh, wood scent.
The watch chosen is from the 94a series in red sandalwood with brushed steel and red check dial, including a date mechanism. All Jord watches are unisex, James is the main watch wearer out of the two of us but I have tried on the watch too and it would make an equally attractive chunky ladies watch. Jord have a wonderful range which I do recommend checking out, they have lots of wood and face colour options not to mention designs. Jord take just as much care and pride in their packaging, ensuring each watch comes in a stunning wooded presentation case, making it a wonderful gift idea too.
If you are on Instagram you can find inspiration searching the #JordWatch hashtag and their account @woodwatches_com. What more can we say, we really were bowled over by Jord and look forward to sharing more styling options in the future.
Have you discovered Jord?

Sometimes here at FPOW we like to bust out some menswear, since we’ve not done that for a while here you go. One serious pretty boy and some cool duds. Many thanks to the city of Sheffield for always having some awesome street art available for posing opportunities. It just happens to be this guys birthday today too, so happy birthday my love x
Such a delight, the Dipped lace heart necklace and earrings
Before I say anything I will let you take a moment to enjoy the above image, bloggers delight in an concoction of macaroons and jewellery (jewelry since we are international here at FPOW). If that alone isn’t enough to get you click over to Uncommon Goods then let me tell you more. Before I go on and on and on about their stunning and unquie product range I’ll tell you a little about the company itself. Their mission is to bring us beautiful things, in a beautiful way. They pride themselves on working hard to achieve sustainability, in fact each month staff from all areas of the company get together to talk about how they become even more environmentally friendly. They look after their staff well and require that all their products have been produced in ways that do not cause harm to people nor animals alike – love them a tiny bit already don’tcha.
The stunning personalised love Birch cuff bracelet Shop Here
Let have a look at some of their gorgeous product then, they actually sell a wide range of jewellery and home-wear but it was the jewellery as always which caught my eye. The Birch cuff evokes the timeless romantic tradition of carving your sweethearts name into a tree (without the actual act of vandalism). You can have the cuff personalised with initials of your choice.
If you fancy something more quirky the A Penny for your Thoughts and Anatomical Heart necklaces which you can Shop Here are beautiful in their detail and sentiment. Who wouldn’t adore a lucky penny they can rub whenever they needed. If you’re not the hearts and flowers kinda girl then the anatomical heart carries all the meaning but in an edgier design.
Finally you will need somewhere to store all your jewels! I fell hook line and sinker for this storage bottle, I’ve never seen anything like it. Not only is it super stylish but its going to take up a lot less space on your dressing table than a traditional jewellery box.
That’s it I will let you go off and discover Uncommon Goods for yourself, they ship internationally too. I for one am glad I discovered them conveniently just before my birthday! Enjoy
