Outfit: Running in a Vivienne Westwood Ball Gown

Finally got to wear this absolutely incredible Vivienne Westwood Gold Label dress. I didn’t wear the squiggle print shoes I was going to but opted for my trusty gold Animal Toe court shoes instead since they are super comfy. Good job too as I ended up stuck in traffic and had to run like a wild thing to catch the train with seconds to spare. I didn’t consider how warm this dress would be, the thick knit lines the entire dress so I will be saving it for winter now, but persevered with being boiled alive because I really just wanted to wear it! Here I am with my darling Christine, she is also wearing Vivienne Westwood with Dr Martins boots. We were out on the town with all our friends at my BFF Chris’ fabulous Bar 25 in Liverpool, to celebrate the divine Cleo Rocos’ launch of her new book ‘The art of positive drinking’.

Here are photos of the dress in it’s other guises as worn by Dame Viv herself and on the runway AW09 and AW10.

You are invited to join me at a private screening of the cult documentary film ‘Bill Cunningham, New York’ which delves into the life of the first street style photographer. After the sceening there will be a Q&A session with fashion experts and a networking reception.

The film sheds light on Bill’s life as an artist and his exploration of the way people dress through photography. The Q&A will see a panel of street fashion professionals, whose specialties range from writing to photography, including Dan Stern from Street Fashion Monitor, Pearl Westwood from Fashion Pearls of Wisdom and Vogue photographer Dvora Lan from Fashionistable.

LFW Street Style: Three Makes a Trend

They say good things come in threes, that often seems the case in fashion, once, twice, three times makes it a trend. My favourite trend of the season has to be painted jackets, be in a hand painted leather or a quirky Elvis print, its one way to stand out from the crowd.

The all out biggest trend spotted at LFW this season was the neon beanie. I am not joking when I say it was like a plague, one out of ten people were wearing them. Reminded me of that episode of Dr Who where the small boxes appeared all of a sudden. Its funny how things happen like that at LFW, you could walk around you home town in a bright pink beanie all you like and never see another soul wearing one, then bam, enter Somerset House and everyone is wearing it! By the end of the week I was seeing so many I had to wonder if people were hotfooting over to Convent Garden just to buy one? It was cold so nice to see a practical trend, however I was surprised to see some wearing them pulled up high, just perched on the head, – no ear warming here! Remember Brian Harvey from East 17, apparently he used to stuff a pair of socks under his beanie to get it so vertical!

Street Style: At the Vivienne Westwood AW13 Show

The beautiful people at the Vivienne Westwood Red Label AW13 show. I am sure you can spot a few faces, Lisa looking like a punk princess, Daniel Lismore, Philip Salon. Let me know if you see any other street style photos from the show, a few people took photo’s of me and my friend I’d like to see. There are a few other shots on my Facebook page which weren’t great quality but interesting all the same such as one of Peaches Geldoff and a lady in a vintage Heart jacket!

What Pearl Wore

┬áToday I wore lots of fab finds from TK Maxx including this sleeveless trench dressed up with my furry Prada’s. You can see my Comic Relief T-shirt featuring Kate Moss, I also have the Tommy Cooper one which I will show soon. You can get your’s at TK Maxx, do something funny for money!

The Shows

One of my personal favourite shows is always Louise Gray, I can’t get enough of her luxe street wear aesthetic. Titled Hey Crazy bonkers accessories included brooches and rings made from toilet rolls- try explaining that fashion to your mum!

Osman, I shot most of this show from the back- why? Because this is where the detail of the collection lay, keeping the front simple and letting the drama be created when the model took her turn.

LW AW13: Day 2

The Shows

The most incredible colours and textures, next season it will be velvet boots with everything!

Dans la Vie

The prints, the prints always the most incredible prints! This season was no different with a serpent feel.

Orla Kiely

I joined the Bobbi Brown team backstage again, huge thanks to Irene, today at Orla Kiely. The look was a chic but laid back Bardot, smokey eye and subtle shimmer lip.

The show it’s self had a sexy-secretary cheeky nudge to it, one thing Kiely never fails to offer is a beautifully thought out show set. She put the girls to work 9-5, although in the most stylishly dressed office I have ever seen!

Bolzoni & Walsh

Tough biker girls, smouldering insouciantly in velvet and leathers, luxury basics at their best.

Street Style

A beautiful array of pretty prints and bold colours, enjoy!

Keeping with the knitwear theme I wore Vivienne Westwood again, I also had these beautiful vintage sunglasses from TK Maxx for when the sun decided to put in an appearance! I was wearing my Comic Relief t-shirt although it was a bit to chilly to show it off.

Chinese New Year, Manchester China Town

Happy New Year to all my Chinese friends, may it bring you luck and prosperity. We went to see the celebrations in Manchester’s China Town, such a shame it was pouring with rain but nice to get to wish everyone a happy new year. Despite the rain it was still packed full, so I didn’t get to see the dragon dance. Luckily the people from the Chinese restaurant at the end of my road always have a dragon which they dance past my house so I will be waving to him later. Due to the weather people weren’t dressed up, but I did see a few cheerful Cosplayers. A lot of the teens were wearing flat or platorm Creeper style shoes, like the girl with the tail below. There is quite a trend for them at the moment and they come in so many styles, I’ve had my eye on a velvet TUK pair. I made sure to wear my red shoes today for good luck.

New Vivienne Westood Shoes (in Exchange for Hypothermia)

DSC_4569DSC_4574 DSC_4577

Any one who has been reading my blog will know how long I have wanted a pair of Vivienne Westwood Rocking Horse shoes for. I nearly had a pair once, an eBay snaffle but they were too small – makes me wonder now if they were my size at all? Why, well because when I tried the pair on I got they fit perfectly, plenty of room in the width and so very comfortable. I got these from Worlds End as a reward for being made to stand outside and have my photo taken in just a dress, in that weather! I was so cold I thought I was never going to get the feeling back in my hands. Well worth it ha ha! I could have got the Clompers which I wore in the shoot but I figured I would wear these more. The Westwood sale is still on so do check it out if you are after a bargain! For other beauty and fashion discounts you can check out NetVoucherCodes a great site for money off coupons. At the moment they have Spartoo and Kurt Geiger vouchers, since we are on the topic of shoes. Anyway I’ve not had chance to wear my new shoes yet, since the weather has been so bad so here is some inspiration, Lisa (manager of WE, image VW Ltd) and a shot from Tokyo street style.
